March Newsletter: Sotheby’s France-Monaco, a new sales consultant at the agency, and Chalet Brianna

In Chamonix Sotheby’s International Realty’s March newsletter, discover the Sotheby’s France network’s record figures in 2022, Aurélie Favret, our new sales consultant career path, as well as a new exceptional property: Chalet Brianna.
Luxury Real Estate: the Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco network beats all records
Despite a tense international context, Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco confirmed its position as leader in luxury real estate in 2022. In a statement issued at the end of January 2023, CEO Alexander Kraft announced record results for the past year, namely:
- A sales volume of more than 161 billion euros
- An increase of more than 11% compared to 2021
- Nearly 1,000 sales made during the year (volume comparable to 2021)
- An average price of 167 million euros per property, 15% more than 2021
- More than 60 sales concluded between 5 and 50 million euros.
“2022 is even better than the two record years before it, but the market is now expected to normalise,” says Alexander Kraft.
Although domestic buyers represent a significant percentage of buyers, the CEO has noted the strong return of foreign buyers since spring 2022. Among them, the following nationalities are the most represented:
- Germans
- Swiss
- Scandinavians
- Americans.
Further proof of the network’s energy: in 2022, 11 new Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco network agencies opened their doors, including the Chamonix Argentière Sotheby’s International Realty agency headed by Lionel Thomas.
Chamonix Sotheby’s International Realty: a new challenge for Aurélie Favret
The Chamonix and Argentière Sotheby’s International Realty network agencies have just welcomed a new sales consultant. Recruited to the team in January 2022 as Office Manager, Aurélie Favret worked internally for a whole year to prepare for her new role.
“When I started at the agency, I was responsible for the whole administrative side of the business,” she explains. “As I went on, I specifically assisted Lionel Thomas* on his sales files.” Aurélie trained as a sales consultant by learning the tricks of the trade directly on the job, at the heart of a dynamic team.
In agreement with Lionel and Sonia Thomas**, on 1st March 2023, Aurélie left the position of Office Manager to devote 100% of her time to the sale of exclusive properties.
“I’d been thinking of becoming a sales consultant in an agency for a very long time, because real estate has always fascinated me,” says Aurélie. Thanks to Lionel and Sonia, the opportunity presented itself with Chamonix Sotheby’s International Realty and I started! It is a profession in which we do not get bored, as every sale is different.”
Her mission: to search for properties for sale (land, apartments, houses, chalets) between Servoz and Argentière and to find them a buyer. To carry it out, Aurélie can count on a major asset: originally from the valley, she knows the area and its specificities perfectly! Taconnaz, where she has always lived, is her favourite sector.
As a sales consultant for the two agencies, Chamonix and Argentière Sotheby’s International Realty, Aurélie benefits from the means implemented by the network to optimise her work.
* President and co-founder of both agencies.
** Co-founder Marketing&Business Management of both agencies.
