A true snowboardcross prodigy, Chamonix local Merlin Surget unveils himself in a great, recently published, video presentation. As the young champion’s privileged partner, Chamonix Sotheby’s International Realty checks in on his latest news.

Merlin Surget: a custom-made video presentation by Yucca Films

A recently published video presentation made by Yucca Films focuses on Merlin Surget’s journey in the Chamonix valley. Through amazing images, the young snowboardcross champion unveils himself for 4 minutes for the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Team.

Throughout the sequences, Merlin tells us about all the great things he thinks about his hometown: “For an athlete and a high-level sportsman, is a dreamland for training. (…) Whether socially or on a sport’s level, I am building myself up in this valley!”

He evokes his specialty, snowboardcross (4 riders who compete on a speed course with obstacles): “To win in snowboardcross, I think you have to be in great physical shape, be mentally strong and above all, be relaxed and find the very essence of fun in snowboarding!”.

The athlete, who is just 23 years old, thanks his supporters and underlines the importance of being supported by so many people in Chamonix: “It gives me incredible strength!”

We also see him during his preparation on a snowy track, of course, but also on a skateboard pumptrack* and speeding down forest tracks on a mountain bike.

^* The pumptrack is a closed loop course, composed of humps and raised turns for surf skates, mountain bikes or BMX.

An impressive list of records

A busy autumn

In addition to the release of this video presentation, Merlin Surget has had a busy autumn, switching between official meetings and several training sessions:

• - A one-month internship in Chile where he benefited from optimal snow conditions
• - A press presentation for the French ski and snowboard teams orchestrated by the French Ski Federation mid-October in Paris at the Pavillon Gabriel
• - Training camps on snow at Stelvio in Italy and Pitztal in Austria
• - Participating in the first round of the World Cup in Les Deux-Alpes on 3rd December 2022 (the day of his 23rd birthday!).
