Record results for Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco in 2022

Alexander Kraft, CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco, announced the news in person on 19th October: the Sotheby’s network has achieved record results for the third quarter of 2022.

It has never been seen before. Despite the current particularly troubling international situation, prestigious real estate remains a safe investment for many investors.

Presented by CEO Alexander Kraft, this is what the latest figures from the Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco network, show. The third quarter of 2022 is the best quarter ever recorded by the French network since its creation.

During July, August and September, sales volume reached a record level of more than 520 million euros in France and Monaco. Over the first 9 months of the year, the total sales by the Sotheby’s network amounted to 1.25 billion euros across all French regions.

Leader in luxury real estate, the Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco network has 70 real estate agencies spread out throughout the country and principality.

The return of foreign customers

Interviewed in September 2022 on Figaro Immobilier’s YouTube channel, Alexander Kraft delivered his analysis of the luxury real estate market. The CEO of the Sotheby’s France-Monaco network recalled that “During the last two years, the prestigious real estate market in France has been supported - almost 100% - by French buyers”.

"This is changing," noted Alexander Kraft, observing a lull in French buyers, offset by a very strong return from foreign investors and more particularly from American buyers.

“Americans love real estate. For two years they have dreamt of buying properties abroad and they have a very strong dollar, so for them it is the right time to buy in Europe and especially in France, a country they have traditionally greatly appreciated.”

During this interview, Alexander Kraft also mentioned the return of other international buyers to the prestigious real estate market, notably:
