Tourism: Chamonix in the top 10 most searched small towns on the web
To celebrate the Easter holidays, the Likibu.com holiday rental comparison site published a ranking of the 50 towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants most sought after on the internet. With its majestic decor and numerous activities, Chamonix ranks in the top 10.
Chamonix is one of the most popular small towns online
With a total of 98,850 requests, Chamonix ranks in the top 10 towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants most searched on the internet. The town that flirts with the Mont Blanc appears in 8th position on the holiday comparison site Likibu.com.
In a large survey carried out in April 2022, the site ranked 50 small towns (out of the 4,300 French towns with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants) according to the number of searches carried out online by the French in the last 12 months.
Among the top 10, Chamonix is the only mountain town to be represented. It is also one of only two inland towns to be picked (the other being Sarlat-la-Canéda in Dordogne), alongside seaside resorts such as Deauville (1st), Hossegor (2nd) or Honfleur (3rd).
The charm of a small town in the heart of the mountains
It is no accident that Chamonix is doing well. With fewer than 9,000 inhabitants, the town is blessed every year - summer and winter - with thousands of tourists.
The valley is full of exceptional natural sites to discover and the possibilities for activities seem endless. United by passion for mountains and sport ski, hiking, mountaineering…), the Chamonix Sotheby’s International Realty team does not miss an opportunity to promote the quality of life in the region among its clients!
Sport, nature, heritage, culture, gastronomy… everything is possible at the foot of Mont Blanc, which is the 3rd most visited natural site in the world. In addition to being the highest summit in Western Europe (culminating at 4,808 metres), there are countless possibilities for excursions. Not to be missed:
• The Aiguille du Midi ;
• The ice cave ;
• The mer de glace and the Montenvers train ;
• The step into the void ;
• The Brévent and Bellevue cable cars ;
• Lac Blanc…
